The way watercolor blends into stunning surprises captivates me in a way no other medium does. Most of my paintings begin this way, with a bit of mystery, waiting to see what adventure awaits within the paint. Teasing out images with negative painting and subtle painted outlines paves the way for each new creation. I love experimentation and often add other mediums to enhance or highlight my paintings. In exploring the limits of various mediums, I seek to create unique art that stimulates the imagination through creative washes, interesting textures, dynamic surfaces, bold colors, negative painting, and mark-making with unconventional tools. My approach to art is loose, impressionistic, and often abstract, informed by emerging patterns and shapes. Ultimately, I see art as an invitation to live authentically, a way to live deeper and engage with the magic of life.
