A Block in The Road<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just for a moment,<\/p>\n

Time to think things out,<\/p>\n

While waiting<\/p>\n

For things to clear.<\/p>\n

Time is of the essence,<\/p>\n

One must think before acting,<\/p>\n

For it is a minor block in the road.<\/p>\n

One should look everywhere when they are hiking.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>My wife is not very tall.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>She has her mind on taking photographs and not so much on what is going on around her.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>My job is to keep my eyes open for possible shots.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I remember as were walking through this part of the Everglades, walking almost into a web stretched across the trail about face high.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>This very large spider about the size of two hands together placed side by side was stretched out in its web before us.\u00a0 <\/span>Deb did not see it in front of her.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I yelled, \u201cStop!\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cDon\u2019t take another step, freeze, don\u2019t move.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>When she looked up where I was pointing she was face to face with this large web and in its center a very large beautiful spider.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>She wanted to get a close-up picture, but I said, \u201cYou know spiders can jump.\u201d I pointed out, the spider has battled before, only six of her eight legs are left.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next question was how to get around it since the web, the largest I have seen, was entirely blocking the trail.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meditation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In life, there are many blocks that we must pass to meet our goals.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>That block may be a minor situation that you have plenty of notice.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>You can remove the block quickly without much thought to it.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Then the major ones may involve some real thought, mainly because it could be life-threatening.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Fear and anxiety can cause you to hurry and not think things through before acting.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>As with the spider, we feared it might attack if we approached its web.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>It was best we took careful steps around its territory.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Thinking and acting slowly, choosing a careful path around it, proved successful. Because we took our time neither we or the spider suffered any setback. <\/span><\/p>\n
