Share a plant for peace

Every day, I wake up with a smile, not because life is perfect, but because life is still here. There is something uniquely precious about growing older. Even with the bumps, sags, and inevitable pains of life, it is a joy to be alive. I am fortunate. Not everyone is blessed to live to be a senior. At 69, I find that I have something in common with the flowers outside my window. They are here for a brief time to be part of life as a whole. So am I, and each new day brings an opportunity that fades with each passing sun.

How marvelous it truly is. Retirement passes quickly. It has been almost five years since my last workday. I had a plan for retirement. But I find that plans change, goals are modified, and still, whatever comes has its moments of beauty, even though the time ahead of me is shorter than the life I have already lived. Such knowledge can be a catalyst for change and a poignant reminder to cherish what is truly important in life. At the end of the day, I simply want to share life with others.

The world can be a difficult place. The current anger and division I see in the world saddens me. Life is far too precious and short to live in hostility. We need compassion. We need change. This week, I posted our first video, a call from my beloved husband for peace in our unstable world. Enjoy your time. Make it count. May your days be blessed.
